Modified Metals builds one-of-a-kind parts for automotive, motorcycle and artistic projects. Bring us a drawing, a sketch or a broken original, and we'll machine, cut, form and weld it to fit.
Who we build for
YOU. Small batch and single pieces are the whole business here, not a favor squeezed in between production jobs and rushed.
01 / Automotive
Cars & trucks
Brackets, adapter plates, spacers, billet replacements for parts nobody makes anymore, and custom fabrication for builds that don't come from a catalog.
02 / Motorcycle
Bikes
Mounts, pegs, axles, spacers and frame work. Long shafts turn on the 16-foot lathe, and the welding covers aluminum, steel and titanium.
03 / Artistic
Art & sculpture
Plasma-cut panels, machined details and finished welds for artists, signs and one-off pieces where looks matter as much as fit.

Motorcycle · Custom build
1978 Kawasaki KZ650 chopper1978 Kawasaki KZ650. Hardtail, sissy bar, handlebars, exhaust and reverse-pattern shifter fabricated in-house. The front end is a shaved 6-over Frank's. Engraved side covers and modified Ironhead foot controls. Murray's 4-to-2 cast manifolds and Dynatek ignition and coils.Motorcycle · Lathe
Flat track axleReplacement axle for a custom flat track motorcycle. The original was a poorly made homemade part and broke in half while the customer was riding. We turned a new one on the lathe, built properly this time. New axle on top, original below.Automotive · Design & TIG
Caprice crossmemberCaprice crossmember, designed and built in-house.Automotive · Rust repair
Torino sheet metal: during1971 Ford Torino, during: rusted frame rail and surrounding sheet metal cut out and replaced with new steel.Motorcycle · Custom build
1976 Triumph T140VComplete one-off motorcycle. Handlebars, exhaust, all mounting tabs and brackets, fuel tank and seat made in-house. Frame, foot controls, chain tensioner and brass rear fender heavily modified. Shaved Sportster forks with lighter springs for better handling.Automotive · Rust repair
Torino sheet metal: afterThe same 1971 Torino after the sheet metal replacement, refinished with the engine back in.Automotive
Narrowed 10-bolt10-bolt rear end from a 1988 OBS Chevy, narrowed 4 inches so wider rear tires fit outside the stock frame rails.Automotive
10-bolt installedThe narrowed 10-bolt installed under the 1988 OBS Chevy, with the wide rear tires tucked outside the stock frame rails.Automotive
383 stroker swap383 stroker small-block installed in a 1993 Chevrolet OBS truck, converted from factory fuel injection to a carburetor.Automotive · Welding
Rear end narrowingAnother rear end narrowing job. A Mark Williams precision-ground alignment fixture holds the housing ends dead true while they are welded.Heavy truck · Frame work
Toter truck conversionConverted a heavy truck into a toter: shortened the frame, relocated the air bag crossmember, and fabricated and welded new bed mounting tabs.Plasma-cut aluminum
Brannen mounting plateBrushed aluminum, made as a mounting plate for electronics in emergency vehicles.Plasma-cut sign
CDK Land ManagementPersonalized sign featuring the owner's dog, designed, fabricated and finished in-house.Lighted outdoor sign
Cafe 41Double-sided outdoor sign, designed together with the owner. Weatherproof lighting and a powder-coated finish are built for years of use.The shop
CNC where the part needs repeatable precision, and manual machines where a single piece is faster done by hand.
| No. | Machine | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Haas TM-1 mill CNC | Precision milled parts, pockets, profiles and hole patterns from a CAD file or print. |
| 02 | Manual mill | Quick one-offs, fixturing, modifications to existing parts. |
| 03 | Manual lathe, 16′ bed | Long work: shafts, axles, tubes and anything too long for a standard lathe. |
| 04 | Manual lathe, 5′ bed | Bushings, spacers, threaded parts and general turning. |
| 05 | Plasma table, 4′ × 8′ CNC | Cut profiles, brackets, gussets and art panels from full sheets. |
| 06 | Ironworker, 45 ton | Punching, shearing, notching and bending plate, angle and flat bar. |

Welding
GMAW, SMAW, GTAW
GTAW
TIG welding
Seven metals, including the ones most shops turn away.
GMAW
MIG welding
Three transfer modes, matched to the job.
- Short circuitThin sheet and tubing, low heat, less distortion.
- Spray transferThick steel, deep penetration, high deposition.
- Aluminum MIGFaster aluminum fabrication on larger assemblies.
SMAW
Stick welding
For heavy steel and structural work.
How a job runs
Send what you have
A print, a CAD file, a napkin sketch, photos or the worn-out original.
Plan it together
Design and direction come from you. We talk it through before anything gets cut, and you stay in the loop from first sketch to finished part.
Get a quote
We'll go over material, finish and fit, then send a price and timeline.
We make it
Machined, cut and welded in-house, then checked against your dimensions.
Pick up or ship
Your part, ready to install, mount or display.

For the fastest quote, include
- A drawing, CAD file (STEP, DXF) or clear photos with measurements
- Material, if you know it
- How many you need (one is fine… seriously. The more that get made, the worse the drivers get. Look, it's basically almost proven. Besides, making a ton of parts gets boring. THINK OF YOUR FABRICATOR'S FEELINGS!)
